TwentyFour's Rob Ford speaking at European Commission 2018 Solvency II review
On Tuesday 27th March 2018, The European Commission will be holding a Public Hearing to discuss the 2018 Review of Solvency II Implementing Measures. The Solvency II Directive is the regulatory framework for the insurance industry introduced in 2016, which is now approaching its first review.
Rob Ford, Founding Partner and Portfolio Manager in TwentyFour’s Asset Backed Securities (ABS) team, will be representing the securitisation industry at the hearing, speaking on a panel focused on Solvency II in the Capital Markets Union (CMU).
The hearing will be opened by Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President of the European Commission and the CMU panel will be moderated by John Berrigan, Deputy Director General of the Commission’s Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and CMU (DG FISMA). Other panellists, include the Head of Risk and Financial Stability at EIOPA (the insurance regulator) and the Deputy Director of the French Finance Ministry (Tresor).
Rob will be giving his perspectives regarding insurers’ future investments in ABS, following the introduction of the new STS securitisation regulation; due to come into force at the beginning of 2019.
