Rob Ford at the TSI Congress in Berlin
Rob Ford, Partner and Portfolio Manager at TwentyFour Asset management spoke at the True Sale International Congress in Berlin on the 23rd and 24th September 2015.
The Congress is the premier annual conference for the securitisation industry in Germany and this year was focussed under the title "Asset Based Finance – Europe's business financing in transition from bank to capital market financing".
More than 600 participants attended from banks, originators and arrangers, international investors, law firms, auditors, rating agencies, consultants and service providers as well as representatives of supervisory authorities, politicians and corporate businesses.
Discussion topics included the importance of securitisation for the creation of a European capital markets union, the development of regulation and other trends in the securitisation industry as part of building a sustainable range of funding sources for the real economy in Europe, and both the ECB’s Asset Backed Purchase and TLTRO programmes as part of broader monetary policy.
Speakers included senior members of the German Finance Ministry, the European Banking Authority and the European Central Bank as well as many well known figures from across the industry.
Rob spoke on a panel focussed on the ECB’s ABS Purchase Programme, looking at the impact of the programme 1-year after its inception, how it has performed relative to original expectations, it’s part in the ECB’s broader QE programme and the ECB's goals for ABS market as well as the outlook for the market in general.
