Social bonds are financial instruments issued to raise funds specifically for projects that have a positive social impact. The concept is similar to that of green bonds (which are used to fund environmentally beneficial projects) but social bonds focus on addressing social issues such as poverty, education, healthcare, affordable housing, and job creation.
